We are often unaware of the stage of change we are in with a behavior we’d like to shift. Instead of giving ourselves grace, we shame ourselves for not being able to follow through or wonder why we don’t have the “willpower”. Knowing what stage of change you are in for any behavior can shed light on where you are and where you’d like to go. In the Transtheoretical Model of change, Dr. Prochaska states there are 6 stages of change, all of which we must go through, all of which take time (like 6 months to create a habit!).
