Learn how to create smoky delicious bacon like tempeh to make an amazing, quick plant based BLT sandwich!

Bacon Tempeh
8 oz Tempeh sliced
2 Tbsp olive oil
2 tablespoons coconut aminos
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 teaspoons liquid smoke
½ teaspoon garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon cumin
Salt to taste
Slice the tempeh in half widthwise
In a shallow bowl, rimmed plate, or baking dish, whisk together the oil, coconut aminos, maple syrup, salt, liquid smoke, smoked paprika, black pepper, and garlic powder.
Add the tempeh and toss to coat (using a pastry brush is helpful for fully coating). Marinate for 10-15 minutes.
Heat skillet and spray with pan spray. Add the tempeh to the pan cooking on for 3 minutes or until crispy. Flip and brush generously with reserved marinade. Cook for another 3 minutes more, slightly crispy.
Remove from heat.
Pesto Mayo
2 Tbsp Favorite Pesto
¼ Cup Mayo
Sandwich
Take 2 slices of bread and toast them.
Slice tomatoes and pull off leaves of romaine or iceberg lettuce.
Take the bread and slather on the pesto Mayo.
Add on tempeh, tomatoes, lettuce.
Cut and serve.
