This class offers practical steps towards reflection on our own stories and the values or beliefs that we each hold dear. Sharing our stories encourages an understanding or healing of past wounds while also providing an opportunity to connect with others in our life in meaningful ways.
If you struggle to get started, or maintain a healthy plan of action, this class is for you. You will learn strategies to shift your current mindset as it relates to weight management and components of a successful, long term approach which includes nutrition, stress, mindless eating and physical activity. Individuals often join weight loss programs before they are truly ready to begin. This is not a weight loss program, but the opportunity to prepare yourself to successfully engage in a plan and understand the best approach for you. You will participate in three one-hour weekly group sessions and follow up with a personal coaching/nutritionist session to assist in planning your next steps
Staying motivated with exercise can be a difficult thing, especially when there are so many challenges in going to more public places to work out, such as the gym. This class helps us to look at new perspectives in working out -- how to make time, how to change the ways we think about exercise, and how to truly enjoy movement vs dreading a calorie burning session. We should be able to look forward to moving around and being active. There are many ways to move our bodies -- no matter what is going on in the outside world.

THIS CLASS IS BEING OFFERED ONLINE ONLY. ***Allina Participants must attend 5 of 6 classes LIVE to earn points and avoid being changed for the full class.*** Practicing mindfulness can help you recover a calm, stable mind and lasting contentment even in the face of difficulty. This six-week series offers highly effective tools to help you manage stress and achieve a higher state of well-being. Learn to stabilize your mind and increase your resilience through mindfulness practices such as meditation and yoga. Mindfulness Training is inspired by Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, which was based on a model in Jon Kabat-Zinn's book, Full Catastrophe Living. Points are awarded within 4 weeks of completion. Mindfulness requires diligence and practice for maximum benefit. Due to the popularity of the program, make-up sessions are not available. In order for us to provide the best possible service to all our clients, it is very important that you commit to the class for which you have registered. All participants must give a minimum 7-day notice prior to the first class session to withdraw from the program. This allows us the opportunity to offer your seat to another participant. No refunds will be given if you cancel your registration less than 7 days before the first class session, and you will not be allowed to transfer your registration fee to a future class. Once your group session has begun, you may not switch to another group. Due to confidentiality concerns, you will not be able to attend another group's sessions for makeup dates.
