Resilient Life
Start: Jul 16, 2019 at 12:30 pm EDT
THIS CLASS IS BEING OFFERED ONLINE ONLY. Resilience is the process of adapting well in the face of significant sources of stress -- such as family and relationship problems, serious health problems or workplace and financial stressors. It means "bouncing back" from difficult experiences. Resilience is not a trait that people either have or do not have-we all have aspects of resilience. The behaviors, thoughts and actions that build resilience can be learned and developed in anyone. In this 6-week series, we'll practice the skills proven to help build resilience of mind, body and spirit. Skills such as mindfulness, optimal nutrition, movement and cultivating a healthy relationship w/ self and others will be taught and practiced in class. By practicing these skills regularly, you can strengthen your ability to bounce back from adversity and to grow and thrive in your professional and personal life. Points are awarded within 4 weeks of completion. PLEASE NOTE: PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND 5 OUT OF 6 SESSIONS LIVE TO EARN THE BE FIT PROGRAM POINTS. Class is non-refundable once the course has started.

Life Balance - what is it and do I have it? Get answers to these questions and, based on the latest research on stress, learn how shifts in your attitude and perspective can lower your stress and create better life balance and fulfillment.
Audience: All care-givers Content: Personal Growth A leading cause of stress and burnout is not overworking; rather, it's getting stuck in the problems of other people. Central to Bowen's family systems theory is the concept of differentiation, or the ability of a person to maintain a strong sense of "self" within a system (i.e., family, organization, etc.). A well-differentiated person is able to resist the lure of emotional triangles, which causes systems to mature by influencing others to take responsibility for themselves. In this class, you will have opportunity to develop skills and awareness to be more resilient as a caregiver and leader in your context.
