About Creator
Dr. Dusek has demonstrated a record of successful and productive projects of high relevance for the field of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) or also known as integrative medicine (IM). Specifically, while working with Dr. Herbert Benson at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (1998-2006) and then Massachusetts General Hospital (2006-2007), Dr. Dusek became an expert in the scientific study of mind/body medicine. As Co-Principal Investigator on a multi-year program project grant (2000-2007, 5 projects, > 500 subjects) funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Dr. Dusek and his colleagues studied the efficacy of several mind/body therapies (e.g., relaxation response, mindfulness mediation, and yoga) in healthy populations (college students and older adults) as well as in patient populations (e.g. cardiac rehabilitation, systolic hypertension and prostate cancer). Dr. Dusek leads the Integrative Health Research Center, part of Penny George Institute for Health and Healing, here at Allina.
