Description Join us for a session of Chair Yoga. Yoga has been shown to improve overall health when practiced regularly. Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that can be done sitting on a chair or standing on the ground while using the chair for support. It is beneficial for people with limited mobility and for those who want to practice yoga at their workplace.

Daniel Wolpert worked as a research scientist, psychologist, spiritual director, farmer, teacher, and construction worker before earning his Masters of Divinity degree at San Francisco Theological Seminary (SFTS). Over the past nearly thirty years he has taught in the fields of psychology and spiritual formation, led retreats, and delivered talks in such settings as the Art of Spiritual Direction Program at SFTS, the Youth Ministry and Spirituality Project, national ministry conferences, UCLA, UND medical school, Luther Seminary, the 5-Day Academy for Spiritual Formation and numerous churches, camps, and other ministry settings. Recently he has also worked as a church pastor while continuing his spiritual direction practice. Daniel is the co-founder and director of the Minnesota Institute of Contemplation and Healing (MICAH, www.micahprays.org). He is also the author of “Leading a Life with God, the practice of spiritual leadership (Upper Room 2006), “Creating a Life with God: the call of ancient prayer practices”(Upper Room 2003), co-author of “Meeting God in Virtual Reality: using spiritual practices with media” (Abingdon 2004), and most recently “The Collapse of the Three Story Universe: Christianity in an age of Science” (MICAH 2013).
Diane is a Nationally Board certified Health and Wellness Coach, has completed training through Wellcoaches and she has also completed Therapeutic Coach training through the Meta Institute. She brings 14 years of nursing experience including positions in the Emergency Room, Endoscopy and Hospice to her work as a Wellness Coach. This combination of compassionate nursing alongside intuitive coaching enables clients to take an active role in their health and receive meaningful support and accountability to become who they want to be. Special interests include creativity, the role of spirituality in health and assisting caregivers with their own self-care. Diane has also completed a Holistic Cancer and Coaching program. In addition, she is collaborating on a pilot study to provide Wellness Coaching to patients at the Woodbury Penny George Institute for Health and Healing Clinic.
Julie has worked at the Penny George Institute since 2010 and is excited to be in charge of the aromatherapy program throughout Allina Health. She received her aromatherapy certification from the Aromahead Institute in 2011 and has studied aromatherapy with some of the leading aromatherapists throughout the world. Julie has presented aromatherapy research at several international conferences and was honored to attend the Second International Integrative Nursing Symposium in Tucson in April 2017, where she highlighted improved Allina Health patient outcomes for pain, nausea and anxiety using essential oils. As a Board Certified Holistic Nurse, Julie also travels and teaches holistic nursing philosophy and integrative therapies including guided imagery, massage and relaxation breathing techniques.
